& Training

 Introduction

The Organisational Development Officer supports the sustainable development of voluntary organisations and community groups.

 Information, advice and guidance, training and a range of practical help is available to groups and organisations to help them deliver their goals more effectively. The Organisational Development officer can help groups assess their needs, offer capacity building support and develop learning opportunities.

 Information, Advice and Guidance

Groups can arrange for a team member to visit them to help with:

Development of constitutions/legal structures
Charity registration
Incorporation
Management committees
Development of policies
Employment of staff
Business planning
Training opportunities
Quality

 In addition to one-one support, Carlisle CVS has produced an Organisational Development Toolkit. The toolkit is an essential guide for community groups and is available from Carlisle CVS or can be accessed by members through this web site.

 Training

We run regular courses throughout the year in partnership with the Cumbria Learning Links, and cover topics such as administration, disability, employment, finance, fundraising, management and committee skills, personal development, publicity and volunteering.

Carlisle CVS aim to provide good quality training to voluntary and community groups through our training programme. In addition the Organisational Development officer can offer help with:
