CVS has recently merged with other CVS’s in the county to form Cumbria CVS.
A new Cumbria CVS website is in the process of development and will be launched in the autumn. In the meantime information will still be provided by this site but will be transferred to the new site in due course.
North
Cumbria Action for Health is a network of voluntary and community groups who
are interested in health and social care. It is currently supported by the
three Councils for Voluntary Service in North Cumbria.
The
last meeting was held on the 26th September 06 at The Oval, near
Workington. It was our Annual General Meeting and John Brown was re-elected as
Chairperson. Congratulations John! We look forward to our continuing work with
you over the next year.
The
Promoting Partnerships Project (that supports the Action for Health network).
North Cumbria Action for Health is to become ‘Cumbria Action for
Health’ as our support extends into South Cumbria. This will enable us to
work more effectively with the new Cumbria-wide Primary Care Trust &
Cumbria Adult Social Care Directorate as a strong Cumbria-wide voice.
The CVS organisations in Cumbria are also merging to form a single
Cumbria CVS from April 2007, but will be continuing to offer support locally
through the existing local offices.
There
are two Promoting Partnerships Officers, Carolyn Otley and Jozi Brown. They
are your first point of contact for more information about Cumbria Action for
Health.

produce a bimonthly news update on health and social care issues in Cumbria
and nationally.

Our annual general meeting was held on the 26th September 06 at
The Oval in Salterbeck. We also discussed the future of the Action for Heath
network and changes to the Primary Care Trusts in Cumbria.
